I was doing some unrelated research on the internet when (quite accidentally I assure you) I stumbled upon The Gabriel Method. I had no idea what it was about (I didn’t even know it had to do with weight loss until I read further on).
I was getting ready to throw it into the pile of products that promised so much only to deliver the same old rehashed systems, programs and products that everyone else is trying to sell us with some new marketing edge, or a 30 minute infomercial, when some of the characteristics started to catch my eye: ...no dieting? ...fat switch? ...FAT? Anyway, since The Gabriel Method is an inexpensive book at Amazon I decided to buy it. After all, what did I have to lose …10 bucks?
I got the book about a week ago and started reading it. It does shed new light on the problem of obesity giving us a thorough understanding of what makes us fat and how we can reverse the process by giving the body what it really needs to be more efficient at burning it. I saw it as a breath of fresh air for those of us who have been trying to lose weight with little or no success, so that is how The Gabriel Method in Review was born.
What Makes This Book So Special?
In the book, Jon Gabriel clearly explains why you are fat and what you can do about it. He seems very interested in making his readers successful in their weight loss endeavors. I guess it’s because he was once in our shoes. But on that tragic September 11, he suddenly realized the marvelous gift of life that he had been abusing for so long. He was scheduled to board one of the planes that were hijacked on that fatal day, but there was a last minute change of plans and he boarded another flight instead. This was an awakening for him and he suddenly felt disgusted at how he had been treating his body …at one time, he actually weighed over 400 pounds! He then started doing research and his discoveries helped him achieve his ideal weight in over 2 years ...without dieting! Bear in mind, though, that 'without dieting' does not mean eating just anything you want and expecting to lose weight. He refers to eating foods that really satisfy the body, consequently reducing your cravings for foods that make you gain weight.
Like a high percentage of Americans, Jon was caught up in what he calls the Famine and Temperature, or FAT – trap. By studying biochemistry, Gabriel learned that our bodies have an internal logic that determines how fat or thin we will be at any given time and it is impossible to lose weight effectively without understanding and working with this logic. You can make your body want to become thinner, and struggling to make yourself lose weight is not the answer. This struggling actually produces stress which can make you gain weight instead instead of losing it.
With The Gabriel Method, you learn:
- That your body has a reason why it's holding on to weight--and it's not your fault.
- How to eliminate the emotional and mental reasons your body holds on to weight in just 10 minutes a day.
- That fat is a protective barrier that our mind believes is helping to protect us.
- That if you can change that belief, you can change your body
- How to choose healthy, nutritious foods that nourish the cells in your body, not starve them.
- How to make delicious shakes and smoothies, and super-power supplements, that can jump start your success.
- The simple way you can train your mind and body to work with your goal of health, not against it.
Conclusion:
I felt I should write The Gabriel Method in Review as this method was a real eye-opener and I notice that I am more in control of what I eat and how I think about food. The problem of obesity for most of us is that what our bodies are craving is one thing and what we are feeding it is another. The result is that we are always hungry again after a short while. It is important to give your body what it really needs and not what you think it wants to stop the vicious cycle. The book also teaches you how to deal with stress and I can now say that eating no longer controls my life. I used to have an internal debate and feelings of guilt every time I wanted to eat something. In the end, I would end up eating it anyway. Today, it is becoming less and less of a problem.
The Gabriel Method has started a revolution in the weight-loss industry, because it focuses on the actual mechanisms that make you fat, such as nutritional famine and stress. It is a way of learning to give your body what it really needs to feel satisfied and put a stop to the vicious food cycle.
